Definition
it is the removal of some or the whole foreskin from the penis.
Indications for Circumcision:
1- Pathological phimosis.
2- Recurrent paraphimosis.
3- Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections.
4- Balanitis xerotica obliterans or other chronic inflammatory conditions.
Contraindications for Circumcision:
1- Unstable or sick infant.
2- Congenital genital abnormalities:
A- Hypospadias.
B- Epispadias.
C- Penoscrotal webbing.
D- Concealed penis.
E- Ventral curvature.
3- Family history of bleeding disorders.
Complications of Circumcision:
1- Early Complications:
- Bleeding
- Infection
- Amputation.
- Slippage of circumcision Dressing, Sutures, or device.
2- Late Complications:
- Redundant foreskin.
- Cosmetic Proplems.
- Adhesions or skin bridges.
- Suture sinus tract.
- Ventral curvature.
- Secondary buried penis.
- Phimosis.
- Fistula.
- Meatal Stenosis
